Have you ever wondered why your pictures get worse and worse everytime you save your PowerPoint (or other Office) document? The answer is: Office 2007 comes with auto compression functions for every single file. You can find them under Save As -> Tools -> Compress Pictures -> Options. You can uncheck this option - but it will only be valid for your current file.
Now, let's have a look at disabling this option once and for all.
- Push the Windows button + R and enter regedit. Yep, now we are in the registry.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\PowerPoint\Options
- Now on the right pane, right click and add a Dword called AutomaticPictureCompressionDefault
Congratulations. That's it!
